It seems many\nlandlords are looking to areas with a high student population \u2013 where they can\nattract a greater rental yield.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>The Scottish\ncities of Edinburgh and Glasgow both sit within the top 20 and are cited as <em>\u2018particularly\nattractive to landlords looking for short-term yields.\u2019 <\/em>Edinburgh benefits\nfrom a high percentage of private renters (86%) ensuring one of the highest\nrental returns of all cities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Head of\nMortgage Distribution at Aldermore Bank, Jon Cooper, commented on the findings,\n<em>\u201cThe City Tracker shows the UK housing market is rich with diverse and\nunique conditions across the regions that are ripe for investment\nopportunities. As we move towards a post-COVID environment, we hope this\nanalysis gives food for thought to many landlords on where to look for those\nhidden gems and returns that meet their business strategies.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>He continued, <em>\u201cPrivate\nlandlords are a central part of the housing market, supporting over 4.5 million\nhouseholds in the UK and, as we emerge from the pandemic, landlords will need\nto meet the emerging demand for choice and variety from renters.
