Crowds are set to return to theatres and music venues, the Chelsea Flower\nShow will be going ahead, and sports fans are excited to be returning to events\nand fixtures.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>A faster\nthan expected recovery <\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>This\nrenewed sense of optimism also extends to the economy, with data for H1 2021\ndemonstrating a stronger economic performance than previously anticipated. Due\nto this, it is looking likely that major economies across the globe are on\ntrack to return to near pre-pandemic conditions before 2021 is over.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>Global\neconomic growth projections strengthened<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>This\nimproved outlook has caused many internationally renowned forecasting agencies\nto strengthen their projections for worldwide growth over the past few months.\nThe latest <em>World Economic Situation and Prospects Report<\/em> published by\nthe UN, for instance, bumped its annual growth forecast up to 5.4% \u2013 a significantly\nhigher figure than its previous estimate of 4.7% in January. For the most part,\nthis positivity is reflective of the speedy rollout of vaccination programmes\nin economies such as the US and China, in addition to increased global trade.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>Uneven prospects<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>However, a\nvaccine-driven recovery is creating inequalities, with a lack of vaccine\navailability in some countries threatening a broader global recovery. The UN\nwarned that <em>\u2018the economic outlook for the countries in South Asia,\nsub-Saharan Africa and Latin America and the Caribbean remains fragile and\nuncertain.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>The\nfuture&#8217;s bright<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>While the\nfuture is looking much brighter as we advance further into 2021, the UN\nforecast (and subsequent warnings) highlight the continued impact of the\npandemic on economic prospects.
