It seems many landlords are looking to areas with a high student\npopulation \u2013 where they can attract a greater rental yield.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>Scotland<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>In Scotland,\nboth Edinburgh and Glasgow fall within the top 20 and are cited as <em>\u2018particularly\nattractive to landlords looking for short-term yields<\/em>.\u2019 Edinburgh appears\nto benefit from a high percentage of private renters (86%) which gives it one\nof the highest rental returns of all cities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>A central\npart of the housing market<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Head of\nMortgage Distribution at Aldermore, Jon Cooper, commented on the findings, <em>\u201cPrivate\nlandlords are a central part of the housing market, supporting over 4.5 million\nhouseholds in the UK and, as we emerge from the pandemic, landlords will need\nto meet the emerging demand for choice and variety from renters.
