Specifically,&nbsp;choosing to spread your cost into&nbsp;12 instalments results in a total median&nbsp;cost of \u00a387 for&nbsp;contents-only cover,&nbsp;compared with \u00a365 for annual payment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Likewise, the difference for buildings-only&nbsp;cover was \u00a3236 when paid monthly&nbsp;against \u00a3206 on an annual basis. Finally,&nbsp;savvy customers could save \u00a350 by&nbsp;paying annually (\u00a3230) for buildings and&nbsp;contents cover, compared with monthly&nbsp;payments&nbsp;(\u00a3280).&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>The research also found that timing&nbsp;can make a major difference to the&nbsp;total cost.
