{"id":756,"date":"2022-03-31T14:23:10","date_gmt":"2022-03-31T13:23:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.contentdeployment.co.uk\/quilter\/?p=756"},"modified":"2022-03-31T14:23:11","modified_gmt":"2022-03-31T13:23:11","slug":"climate-change-concerns-investors-tune-in","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.contentdeployment.co.uk\/quilter\/2022\/03\/31\/climate-change-concerns-investors-tune-in\/","title":{"rendered":"Climate change concerns \u2013 investors tune in"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>The environment and climate change are more concerning to\nmost people than the economy or COVID-19, a new study has found<sup>1<\/sup>.\nSignalling the prominence of climate change in the global debate, out of the\nten countries surveyed, the environment or climate change was the primary ESG\n(Environmental, Social and Governance) concern.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Waste management (8%), pollution (6%) and clean air (5%)\nfeature amongst the other environmental issues cited, and over half of\nconsumers are prepared to boycott companies who demonstrate poor ESG\nperformance. Tom Parker, Deputy CEO EMEA at SEC Newgate commented, <em>\u201cThere is\na widespread interest in and concern about the ethical and sustainability\nperformance of governments and corporates. This is a truly worldwide\nphenomenon.
