It\u2019s important to ensure you are in the best place possible when it comes to tax planning, your investments and pensions.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Sensible tax planning can help to reduce the amount of tax you pay and safeguard your wealth for the future. So, what needs to be on your \u2018to do list\u2019 this new tax year?&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>A great start is getting to know your 2024\/25 tax rates:&nbsp;<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-list\">\n<ul><div class=\"hd-block hd-block-list-item\">\n<li>The ISA allowance is <strong>\u00a320,000 <\/strong>and the JISA (Junior ISA) allowance and Child Trust Fund annual subscription limits are <strong>\u00a39,000<\/strong>. CTFs closed to new applicants in 2011.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-list\">\n<ul><div class=\"hd-block hd-block-list-item\">\n<li>The Dividend Allowance is <strong>\u00a3500<\/strong> (from April 2024)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-list\">\n<ul><div class=\"hd-block hd-block-list-item\">\n<li>The annual Capital Gains Tax (CGT) exemption is <strong>\u00a33,000<\/strong> (from April 2024)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-list\">\n<ul><div class=\"hd-block hd-block-list-item\">\n<li>The Income Tax Personal Allowance and higher rate threshold are <strong>\u00a312,570<\/strong> and <strong>\u00a350,270<\/strong> respectively until April 2028 (rates and thresholds may differ for taxpayers in parts of the UK where Income Tax is devolved)&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-list\">\n<ul><div class=\"hd-block hd-block-list-item\">\n<li>The IHT nil-rate band is <strong>\u00a3325,000<\/strong> and the main residence nil-rate band <strong>\u00a3175,000<\/strong>.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/div><\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Effective tax planning strategies can help shield you from the chill this spring.
