{"id":1317,"date":"2022-10-07T10:01:11","date_gmt":"2022-10-07T09:01:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/new.contentdeployment.co.uk\/quilter\/?p=1317"},"modified":"2022-10-07T10:05:52","modified_gmt":"2022-10-07T09:05:52","slug":"the-big-five-personality-traits-of-the-self-made-millionaire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/new.contentdeployment.co.uk\/quilter\/2022\/10\/07\/the-big-five-personality-traits-of-the-self-made-millionaire\/","title":{"rendered":"The \u2018Big Five\u2019 personality traits of the self-made millionaire"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>In the first\nstudy of its kind<sup>1<\/sup>, researchers have distinguished the personality\ntraits most common among self-made millionaires versus those who have inherited\ntheir wealth.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>The study\nanalysed a sample of wealthy individuals according to the so-called \u2018Big Five\u2019\npersonality traits: <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>\u2022 Openness\n(i.e. curious vs cautious) <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>\u2022\nConscientiousness (i.e. efficient vs disorganised) <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>\u2022 Extroversion\n(i.e. outgoing vs reserved) <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>\u2022 Agreeableness\n(i.e. friendly vs uncaring) <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>\u2022 Neuroticism\n(i.e. confident vs anxious) <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>The results\nshowed that wealthy individuals across both categories tended to show a similar\npersonality profile, being open to new experiences, extroverted, conscientious,\nagreeable and demonstrating low levels of neuroticism. They were also shown to\nbe more risk tolerant than the average population. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Interestingly,\nthe study revealed that self-made millionaires more closely match this\npersonality profile than inheritors \u2013 and that this becomes more pronounced the\nwealthier they are. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>The report\nconcluded that people with this unique combination of personality traits have a\nhigher chance of becoming rich via their own means.
