From a\nhealth perspective, 57% of early retiree respondents reported a boost to their\nmental wellbeing, with 50% believing their physical wellbeing improved.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>Enjoying\nmore freedom<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Nearly a third\n(32%) of people who retired early or plan to do so are driven by the desire \u2018<em>to\nenjoy more freedom while still being physically fit and well enough to enjoy\nit.\u2019<\/em><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>Other factors\ndriving people to pursue early retirement include financial security (26%),\nwanting to spend more time with family (20%) and having different priorities\n(23%).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>Careful\nplanning needed<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>47% of retirees\nfound that their finances worsened in retirement and a sizable 24% of people\nhad to return to work after retiring because of financial issues.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong>Positive\nsteps to financial freedom<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p>It\u2019s very\nimportant to be realistic when considering early retirement but with meticulous\nplanning and careful consideration, we can assess your options and help to\ndevelop a robust plan which can help ensure that happiness doesn\u2019t need to come\nat a cost when retiring early.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><sup>1<\/sup>Aviva, Dec\n2021<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"hd-block hd-block-paragraph\">\n<p><strong><em>It is important to take professional advice before making any\ndecision relating to your personal finances.
